A Creative Sanctuary in Idyllic Eastbourne
A warm, elegant home in Eastbourne, thoughtfully reimagined to celebrate art, colour, and relaxed living.
Set in the seaside village of Eastbourne, this double-storey weatherboard home was ready for a new chapter. With the children having left home, the clients wanted to create a refined yet inviting interior that felt modern, timeless, and expressive.
The design began with a new charcoal-toned kitchen, which became the foundation for the palette and materiality throughout the home. From there, we developed a cohesive scheme that balanced durability with elegance—ensuring the home would feel both beautiful and easy to live in.
Textured, hardwearing fabrics were selected to respond to the strong natural light, while layered tones of green connect the interiors to the surrounding garden. Accents of ochre, brass, and chartreuse bring warmth and depth, particularly within the formal living spaces.
Art played a central role in the design. We collaborated with talented New Zealand artists to commission meaningful pieces, creating a curated collection that enhances the interiors and reflects the clients’ personality.
Room by room, the home was transformed into a layered and expressive sanctuary—subtle in its colour, yet rich in character.
